German (GER)

500-level courses generally are included in both the undergraduate- and graduate-level course listings; however, specific course/section offerings may vary between semesters. GER 000. German Study Abroad1-15 Units

Prerequisite(s): Membership in a Language Study Abroad Program and/or programs approved by the Department of Classical and Modern Languages.

Description: Credit awarded to students who have successfully completed the program. Upon return, the student will be required to demonstrate proficiency at a level agreed upon by the Department of Classical and Modern Languages prior to departure.

GER 121. German Language and Culture I4 Units

GER 123. German Language and Culture in Review4 Units

Prerequisite(s): GER 122 or equivalent or placement score between 201-400 on the WebCAPE German placement exam Deepen your understanding of the people(s) and culture(s) of the German-speaking world as you further develop your intercultural competency.

Description: Fine-tune basic German language skills to build your communicative competency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in intercultural and interdisciplinary contexts. Identify opportunities to apply your German skills to your career and life goals. Continuation of GER 122.
