Residency Requirements

Students earning baccalaureate degrees are required to complete at least 25 percent of the total credit hours required for the degree (including Cardinal Core credit hours) at the University of Louisville.  Students earning baccalaureate degrees are also required to complete 30 of their last 36 semester hours at the University of Louisville. Hours in residence consist of any credit hour earned through direct instruction from a faculty member at the University of Louisville.  It does not include credit by exam, transfer coursework, or study abroad without prior approval.

Additionally, transfer students must take a minimum of 12 credit hours in their major at the University of Louisville.
